According to preliminary data, the market share of energy-efficient window and door products has risen sharply, now making up about 50% of the total window and door market. China is currently experiencing its peak construction period, with nearly 2 billion square meters of new housing built each year—more than the combined total of all developed countries. However, a major concern remains: over 97% of these buildings are high-energy-consuming structures. If this trend continues, by 2020, the total area of high-energy buildings in China could reach 70 billion square meters. This alarming projection highlights the urgent need for energy-efficient design in the construction sector, as failing to act now will only worsen the country’s energy crisis. Additionally, there are currently over 40 billion square meters of existing buildings in China, with more than 90% classified as high-energy consumers. In these buildings, doors and windows account for nearly half of the total energy consumption. Industry experts emphasize that improving the energy efficiency of doors and windows is crucial for reducing overall building energy use. As a result, the adoption of advanced energy-saving window and curtain wall technologies, along with retrofitting existing buildings, has become an essential step in addressing China’s energy challenges. This transition is not just a necessity but also a natural evolution driven by market demand and environmental responsibility.
