Since entering in August, the northern Jianghuai, Jiangnan, South China, eastern Sichuan Basin and other places 4-9 light of day maximum temperature ≥ 35 ℃ weather, in which the southern most extreme maximum temperature of 39-41 ℃.
 According to the forecast of the Central Meteorological Observatory, in mid- August , Jianghan, Jianghuai, Jiangnan, South China, North China, Sichuan Basin and other places will still have high temperature, the average temperature is 1-2 °C higher than normal , and will be 5-8 days high. The temperature is 35-38 °C, and the daily maximum temperature in parts of Sichuan Basin, Chongqing and Jiangnan can reach 39-40 °C.
The continuous high temperature affects the rice heading and flowering in the Yangtze River Basin, which leads to an increase in the empty shell rate and a decrease in the seed setting rate. The high temperature weather is also unfavorable for the greening and root development of the late rice in South China. Therefore it is recommended that:
First, all localities should actively take countermeasures, rational irrigation, water temperature adjustment, to mitigate the impact of high temperature weather. In the first season, the rice area is properly filled with deep water, and the daily irrigation and night drainage method is adopted to cool and humidify and reduce the influence of high temperature; the late rice field should maintain the shallow water layer, prevent high temperature burning seedlings, and at the same time, according to the growth of the seedlings, it is suitable for strong fertilizer.
Second, the recent warm and hot weather is very unfavorable to the growth and maturity of other local crops, vegetables, fruits, etc., which may lead to curling of leaves, falling flowers and fruit, etc., and reduce the yield and quality of vegetables, fruits and fruits. All localities should pay attention to measures such as covering, shading, early morning or evening watering to avoid high temperature heat damage.
