On September 10th, the Fifth National Assembly of the Fifth Session of the Zipper Branch of the China Hardware Association was held in Yiwu, Zhejiang. At the conference entitled "Industrial Development and Scientific Development", "standards" have once again become the focus of hot discussion.
After one year of preparation, new progress was made in the revision of the zipper industry standard. Zhang Dongli, chairman of the China Hardware Products Association, said at the meeting that the establishment of the zipper subcommittee by the National Hardware Products Standards Technical Committee has been approved by the National Standards Committee and the zipper subcommittee will be established around the end of October.

“The entire zipper industry suffered a certain amount of impact during the financial crisis from 2008 to 2009. Standardized construction is one of the enlightenments left by this round of crisis.†said Shi Nenghui, chairman of the Zipper branch of the China Hardware Association.
It is understood that in the past year, the zipper club has included the revision of the standard in its key work and actively promoted the effective progress of the work. After full preparation, the zipper industry standardization committee was finally approved. As soon as this October, the zipper subcommittee will be established.
“The establishment of the technical committee is the key to standardization. The committee will be composed of experts and leading companies in the industry. The next standard revision will enter the substantive stage.†said Zhou Yiyang, director of the secretariat of the Fujian Zipper Industry Association.
Many industry insiders, including Zhou Yiyang, believe that the new standard is a prerequisite for the transformation and upgrading of the industry. They said that for most companies in the industry, in the past ten years after the introduction of the old standard, the company's zipper production has achieved a qualitative improvement in material selection, process, quality and management model. After the financial crisis, many enterprises will also accelerate the reform of technology to the agenda, and the whole industry will enter a new stage of development and improvement. “Standards are the motive force for the promotion of industrial transformation and upgrading, and play a role of supervision and boosting. When the industry enters rapid development, the introduction of new standards is imminent.â€
Will refer to international standards
“The zipper industry in Taiwan prepared a lot of work for the preparation of standards. The most important task is to collect standards for major exporting countries such as Japan, the United States, Britain, and Germany. We think this is very important for the zipper industry. Necessary, it is recommended that the zipper in the Chinese mainland also be considered.†said Hong Baochuan, head of the Taiwan zipper delegation invited to this zipper conference. As a person in the zipper industry, he believes that exports are an important part of the zipper sales share, and the requirements of foreign target markets will also be part of the standard.
Suggestions from Taiwanese counterparts have been recognized by the zipper branch. At the general meeting, Ye Kelian, the Secretary General of the China Hardware Product Association's zipper branch, said that in addition to products, equipment, and materials, the standardization construction should fully consider the environmental protection laws and development trends of various countries, as well as people's qualification standards and other aspects . To this end, this year's conference has set up special lectures such as the "New EU Environmental Protection Act and Development Trends" to promote the international environmental protection standards to member companies.
“In addition, strengthening communication with related industries and strengthening the training of industry technicians will also become an important part of the standard work. Upstream and downstream industries will work together to apply new equipment, new materials, new processes and new technologies to production. In order to truly promote the development of the industry, Ye Kelian said that he will strive to introduce a new version of the "zipper standard" in the first half of 2011, and develop a series of standards related to zipper products, followed by publicity in the industry, and urge implementation.
