Researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and Beijing Institute of Technology, have developed a keyboard that recognizes the identity of a typing user in addition to the keyboard's general functionality. This type of keyboard can create user profiles by measuring data, such as the amount of pressure the user uses when typing, and the speed of typing.
There are already software that can identify users by typing speed, but developers of such smart keyboards say that software practices are limited, and their smart keyboards can analyze more indicators such as stress.
If the keyboard detects that the typist is not an authorized user, it automatically locks and simultaneously records the text that the unauthorized user has entered. Because it involves digital security, this smart keyboard prototype will spawn many unique features. In addition, this keyboard surface can generate micro current, but the keyboard surface is free of dirt, hair and breadcrumbs.
