Analyze the principle and advantages of floating password electronic lock technology
What is a Floating Password (FloatingID)?
Floating password technology refers to a security system where the password changes automatically every time the key interacts with the lock. This dynamic encryption method uses irregular and non-repeating passwords, making it highly secure against unauthorized access.
Unlike traditional password locks that use static codes, which can be easily stolen or guessed, floating password systems ensure that even if a key is duplicated, the previous password has already changed, rendering the copy useless.
This technology relies on two sets of passwords: one fixed and one dynamic. The fixed password is stored in the key, while the dynamic password is generated within the lock. Each time the key is used, the system verifies the current password and updates it for the next use, ensuring continuous security.
Even if a key is lost or stolen, the system will not accept any previous password, as it is no longer valid. This makes the chance of a successful attack extremely low—comparable to winning the lottery multiple times in a row.
The Origin of Floating Password Technology
Floating password technology was developed by Mr. He Zaihong, the founder of Korea Easy Insurance Co., Ltd., during his time at Daewoo Electronics in South Korea. Inspired by news reports of mechanical key duplication leading to theft, he sought to create a more secure locking system.
After witnessing how stolen keys were used to finance education for children abroad, he realized the urgent need for a new form of digital security. His idea led to the development of the floating password system, which was later patented in Korea, the U.S., Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
Advantages of Floating Cryptography
• No need to worry about key duplication
With Yale electronic locks using floating password technology, the risk of key copying is significantly reduced. The combination of 281 trillion fixed cipher suites and 4.2 billion dynamic ones ensures that each use generates a unique code, making it nearly impossible to guess or replicate.
• No fear of lost keys being misused
In traditional mechanical locks, losing a key often means replacing the entire lock. However, with floating password locks, if a card key is lost, it can be simply deactivated through the system. The lost key becomes invalid immediately, preventing unauthorized access and ensuring continued security.
Beryllium oxide ceramics are ceramics with beryllium oxide as the main component. Mainly used as materials for large-scale integrated circuit substrates, high-power gas laser tubes, heat sink shells of transistors, microwave output windows and neutron moderators. Beryllium oxide ceramics have the characteristics of high thermal conductivity, high melting, strength, high insulation, low dielectric constant, low dielectric loss and good packaging process adaptability. And the field of optoelectronics technology has received attention and applications, especially in high-power semiconductor devices, high-power integrated circuits, high-power microwave vacuum devices and nuclear reactors. It has always been the mainstream ceramic material for the preparation of high thermal conductivity components. It has been used in the military field and the national economy. To a very important role.
