Beijing furniture trades for a new high in October

 

In October of this year, furniture trade-in sales reached a new high. Eleven furniture sales enterprises in the city sold 45956 pieces of four types of furniture with trade-in, and the trade-in sales amount was 320 million yuan, accounting for 37% of the total sales of four types of furniture. In the same month, the sales of trade-in furniture increased by 70% compared with September, and the sales of all furniture increased by 38% compared with September.

 

 

From the implementation of the policy on July 1 to the end of October, 11 furniture sales enterprises in this city sold 123,768 pieces of four types of furniture with trade-in, and the sales amount was 790 million yuan.

 

Last year, under the organization of the Municipal Commission of Commerce, 16 stores of 5 companies including Actual House, Red Star Macalline, Lanjing Lijia, Chengwai Chengjia Plaza and Jimei Home Furnishing participated in the one-month pilot. During the period from November 1st to 30th last year, the government and enterprises each subsidized 5% to provide trade-in services for four types of furniture. Among them, the four types of new furniture include cabinets, sofas, beds, tables and chairs. The maximum amount of subsidy for a single piece of furniture is not more than 1,000 yuan, which drove a total of 150 million yuan in furniture sales.

 

This year, Beijing Furniture was re-launched on July 1 and increased from 5 companies last year to 11 total 33 stores. Qiangli Furniture Group Co., Ltd., Beijing Qumeixinjia Commercial Co., Ltd., Beijing Jiahejiamei Home Furnishing Market Co., Ltd., Beijing Jinyu Tiantan Furniture Co., Ltd., Beijing Ouluohui International Furniture Trading Co., Ltd. (formerly Beijing Top 100 International Furniture Trading) Co., Ltd.) and 6 companies from Beijing Xinhai Yuntong Commercial Building also joined.

 

Replacing furniture with old ones not only boosts consumption but also contributes to the development of the furniture industry. However, while replacing old furniture with new ones, we also encountered new problems: how to recycle old furniture; how to determine the categories of subsidies for new furniture; and how to determine the amount of subsidies.

 

The "Beijing Furniture Trade-in Implementation Measures in 2013" stipulates that the maximum amount of subsidies for a single piece of furniture shall not exceed 1,000 yuan. The trade-in subsidized products for furniture include cabinets, sofas, bedding, tables and chairs (removable furniture only). (Editor: Peter)
