Henan Plastics Industry Welcomes New Opportunities

The output of China's plastic products has always been at the forefront in the world rankings. Among them, the output of various plastic products has been ranked first in the world, and China has become a world leader in the production of plastic products. From 2001 to 2010, the average annual increase in the output of plastic products in China remained above 15%. In 2010, the total output of plastic products in China reached 58.3 million tons.

In this context, the plastic products industry in Henan Province also ushered in new opportunities.

First, it faces the opportunity of industrial restructuring and the acceleration of industrial upgrading. In the 12th Five-Year Plan of Henan Province, the government proposed to build a one-hundred-hundred-hundred-tillion-yuan industrial plan that includes home appliances, kitchens, packaging, printing, leather, and plastic products. This shows that the plastic products industry has been listed as one of the key developments.

Second, the cluster type undertakes the opportunity of industrial transfer. Mobile phones, electronic information, food, home appliances, furniture, clothing, and footwear are the six consumer goods industries. As an industry closely related to the consumer goods industry, the plastics industry will surely usher in rare development opportunities with the arrival of the climax of the six major consumer products industries.

Third, there is an upsurge of industrial agglomeration in Henan Province. At present, Henan Province is in a critical period of accelerating the two major leapfrogs and realizing the rise of the Central Plains. It not only has many favorable conditions and positive factors, but also has prominent contradictions and problems such as low industrial levels, extensive development approaches, and intensified constraints on resources and the environment. To this end, under the guidance of the scientific concept of development, the provincial party committee and provincial government began planning and building industrial agglomeration areas in 2008. The agglomeration area is an effective carrier and important support for promoting coordinated development of the three systems, building three major systems, and achieving scientific development. It is a way to implement the scientific concept of development and a strategic breakthrough for transforming the mode of development. Accelerating the planning and construction of agglomerations is an objective need to innovate institutional mechanisms and cultivate new advantages in regional competition. It is a key measure for implementing the relevant policies and measures to promote the rise of the central region and achieve leapfrogging and promotion of the rise.
