Successful construction of new graphene macroscopic bodies

Abstract A research team from the "Energy Materials Chemistry" group, led by Professor Qiu Jieshan from the School of Chemical and Environmental Life Sciences at Dalian University of Technology, has made a breakthrough in graphene-based materials. Building upon previous studies, the team successfully developed a super-light and highly elastic macroscopic graphene structure using an innovative fabrication technique. The findings were recently published in *Advanced Materials*, and due to their significance and novelty, they were also highlighted as a featured article in *Nature*.

This new graphene macrostructure exhibits remarkable properties such as ultra-low density, high porosity, and exceptional mechanical performance. These characteristics make it highly promising for applications in energy storage, environmental remediation, biomedical engineering, and shock absorption systems. Its lightweight yet durable nature could revolutionize various industries that rely on advanced materials.
