We originally used a domestic software for the design of electrical control, but many engineers reported that the software design was not intelligent enough, and the data was not relevant. At the end of 2003, the company agreed to buy a professional software. For electrical design, there are about 10 people in our electrical group. The director of the electrical room asked me and another colleague to choose a software to use. Our German joint venture party recommended two softwares, one is a German native software, and the other is a German native software. One is AutoCAD Electrical, we are used to abbreviated as ACE at the time the version is ACE2004; in ACE 2004 there is no Chinese version, it is English, it is a bit difficult to learn, but fortunately ACE 2004 provides a very useful help if you If you don't use it anywhere, you can learn it directly. This is very useful for a beginner. I learned through ACE2004's excellent help system and realized the powerful functions of ACE, and completed one through it. The design of the project, the project has a total of about 120 drawings, of which large 40-50 schematics, others are reports, wiring diagrams, terminal blocks, etc. We used to design a similar project in about 3 weeks for design and 2 weeks for proofreading. After ACE, the proofreading was shared for 3 weeks. I completed the task and achieved good results. Another colleague who tried the German software, because the operation of the software is complicated, and the help system is not perfect, he did not try it.

In June 2004, we contacted Autodesk's distributors. After they introduced us to two more in-depth communication with Autodesk engineers, we decided to use AutoCAD Electrical as our electrical design platform in 2004. In August, we purchased the software. Autodesk told us that we are Huatai Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., the first ACE customer in China. We are very proud to say that! Through training with Autodesk and based on my own experience and our company's situation, we have trained other colleagues in our company, and now they are already skilled in using ACE for design. The version we purchased at the time was AutoCAD Electrical 2005. At that time, we had a simplified Chinese version. We have upgraded to ACE2006 this year, and we are expecting ACE to get better and better. Below I will take a project I have done as an example to introduce how to design with ACE:

When we design, the first thing we need to use is the electrical component symbol. ACE provides some GB and IEC-based electrical component symbol library. It can be used to directly design the component symbol for design. The component symbols in ACE are all Using the concept of AutoCAD block to draw is a block with attributes, so when we need to use some special symbols, and the library does not provide it, we can directly use the definition block in ACE, you can do a sum The same symbol as the library symbol. It turns out that because our engineers come from all directions, the drawing habits of each person are different, so the drawings drawn are not uniform. Now, through the unified component symbol library, the standardization of drawings is solved.

ACE not only provides a symbol library, it is super convenient to draw schematics, and the drawings are easy to modify. Inserting components into AutoCAD Electrical, when you insert electrical component symbols, the software automatically retrieves the inserted components to determine the number of the newly inserted component, ensuring that the component number is unique; the best place, no matter when you insert When you modify, edit, or edit a component, the wires are automatically disconnected and restored. This turns out that you need to manually break and extend the line. You don't need it now. We mainly design the motor control, so we need to use a lot of relays to control the motor. Now we design it in ACE. When you insert a relay, the system will take the contacts according to the model you choose. It is displayed that if a contact is used, the system will update this information in a timely manner, which is extremely convenient.

The first step in the design of PLC in the past is to find the design manual and draw the PLC module graphics. Now there are a large number of PLC module libraries in ACE. We use Siemens, Mitsubishi and GM here. Currently, PLC design is used for it. It is much more convenient; and his various PLC information, such as PLC address information, can also be output, which is very helpful for our programming below.

When we finished the schematic, we needed to make the panel and wiring diagrams and reports, and we used to make these graphics in the past, which is very troublesome and can be easily done in ACE.

When we used the wiring diagram design in the past, we need to look up and determine the wiring information one by one against the schematic. It is a physical activity, and it is often wrong, so it has been n times by the boss; now at ACE, when the schematic design When the ACE automatically stores the wiring information into the database, when you draw the wiring diagram, you can first place the required component wiring diagram on the drawing surface, and arrange it according to the requirements. Click the Place Wire Information command. It is possible to draw all the wiring diagrams, and once the schematic is modified, it is convenient to update the wiring relationship.

For drawing terminal strips, it has been more troublesome in the past, not only to find wiring information, but also to draw a template, and once the terminal number is updated, it is even more ambiguous, and it needs to be re-entered according to the previous process; now in ACE, Also, like the wiring diagram, when you insert the terminal, the system will record the relevant information into the database. When you need to design the terminal block, it is also a command, and the terminal number is modified and rearranged. .

In the past, for me, the various headaches and the design of the screens, such as the component list, the wiring table, the cable table, etc., are extremely cumbersome processes, and now it is easy to complete in ACE. In view of the length of the relationship, I will not elaborate on it, and appreciate the drawings I designed with ACE.
