Recently, the multifunctional helmet developed by the Chen Zhengzhi Innovation Studio at Jingzhou Power Supply Co., Ltd. has been granted national patents for both practicality and design. This innovative headgear is set to revolutionize safety protocols in the power industry. The traditional safety work cap is a crucial element in ensuring worker protection during power operations. However, during daily maintenance and emergency repairs, workers often need to carry multiple devices such as high-voltage warning detectors, walkie-talkies, emergency lights, and voice recorders—making on-site handling inconvenient. Additionally, due to the unpredictable nature of emergencies and tight schedules, it's easy to forget essential tools, which can slow down repair processes. In 2013, Jingzhou Power Supply Company initiated a project to develop a multifunctional helmet, assigning the task to the Chen Zhengzhi Innovation Studio within the control center. Over the past five months, the team conducted extensive testing and successfully integrated several key functions into the helmet without altering its original structure or functionality. The new helmet features high-voltage warnings, wireless communication, one-touch recording, emergency lighting, and charging capabilities. It automatically alerts workers when they approach unsafe distances from live equipment, offers 48-hour continuous recording with a single button, supports 99 pairs of wireless communication among 33 users within 500 meters, and provides five different lighting modes. The helmet also includes a USB charging port. Thanks to advanced wireless charging technology, the helmet can be fully charged simply by placing it in a designated spot, meeting strict safety tool management standards. Despite all these added features, the helmet’s weight increased by only 50 grams, making it comfortable for daily use. This innovation not only reduces the burden on workers but also eliminates the hassle of carrying multiple tools, significantly improving operational efficiency.
