In the Quality Management Inspection Center of the Henan Oilfield Refined Wax Factory, laboratory technician Li Jingmin expressed her satisfaction while explaining the recent improvements in the lab environment. “The hood is installed above the light oil analysis instrument, allowing oil and gas generated during the heating process to be directly suctioned away. Some heavy oil analysis and solvent operations are conducted directly within the fume hood. Our working conditions have significantly improved over time,†she said on April 2.
In recent years, the refined wax plants have made significant efforts to better protect employees' occupational health. They have strengthened the control of occupational hazards, strictly implemented the "three simultaneous" system for occupational health in construction projects, and ensured that potential occupational disease risks are addressed at the source.
To raise awareness, the factory regularly organizes activities during the Occupational Health Promotion Week. Through banners, training sessions, knowledge competitions, symposiums, on-site consultations, bulletin boards, and hazard identification, employees become more familiar with the "Occupational Disease Prevention Law" and the dangers associated with chemicals. These initiatives aim to enhance employees’ safety awareness, prevention capabilities, self-protection skills, and environmental consciousness.
Additionally, the factory conducts regular occupational health examinations for over 1,000 employees who are exposed to occupational hazards. It continuously improves the occupational health monitoring records and four key files, ensuring each employee has a personal file stored by category. Employees also sign the "Contract on Safety Risks and Occupational Disease Hazards," and they receive written notifications about job-related risks and occupational hazards.
The factory actively carries out occupational health status surveys andéšæ‚£ rectification work. Since the second half of last year, it has been continuously improving the notification and warning signs for occupational hazards in the workplace. According to industry standards, there are 26 fume hoods, 3 explosion-proof fume hoods, and 25 other types of hoods in the quality inspection center laboratory. In addition to installing eyewash facilities in every area, 28 shower stations have been reinstalled. Furthermore, 70 additional protective masks have been provided to grassroots workshops, further enhancing occupational health management at the production site.
