Mortality caused by a hard hat

Recently, a heated argument broke out at a construction site in Tianshui, Gansu, after a simple request led to a physical altercation involving a safety helmet. According to reports, an older worker was resting in the designated break area when he suddenly remembered that he had left his safety helmet on the construction site. Instead of going back himself, he asked a younger worker named Xiao Guo to retrieve it for him.

Xiao Guo, who was engrossed in playing with his phone, initially ignored the request. The older worker repeated his demand, but Xiao Guo, already annoyed by the interruption, responded rudely and refused to comply. He then returned to his phone, muttering under his breath. When the older worker overheard this, he became extremely angry. As a 40-year-old man, he couldn’t tolerate being disrespected by a 18-year-old, leading to a verbal confrontation that quickly escalated into a physical fight.

In a fit of anger, the older worker grabbed a teacup and hurled it at Xiao Guo’s head. The cup struck him directly, causing a sudden gash on his forehead. Other workers nearby immediately rushed to help and called emergency services. Xiao Guo was taken to the hospital, where he received around seven to eight stitches for the injury.

Upon receiving the alert, officers from the Qilidun Police Station under the Qin Zhou Public Security Bureau arrived at the scene to investigate and collect evidence. The older worker was temporarily detained for questioning. The case is currently under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the full sequence of events and any potential legal consequences.
