On August 27, 2017, the third plenary meeting of the National New Materials Industry Development Leading Group Expert Advisory Committee was held at the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The meeting was chaired by Academician Gan Yong, Director of the Expert Advisory Committee. The meeting summarized the work of the Expert Consultation Committee in the early stage, and demonstrated the implementation plan of the “Key New Materials R&D and Application†major project implementation plan, the national new material production and application demonstration platform, and the test evaluation platform construction plan, and formulated and supported the promotion and application of the new material industry. Advice was provided on a number of policies and the preparation of the 2017 New Materials Key Product Catalogue Guide. In the summary of the meeting, Academician Gan Yong emphasized that the expert advisory committee should fully play the role of intellectual support in ensuring the completion of the 2017 key tasks in accordance with the unified deployment of the National New Materials Industry Development Leading Group. The meeting also put forward requirements for the work of the expert advisory committee to carry out local new material industry consultation, research and activities in the name of the expert advisory committee, and made specific arrangements for the preparation of the annual report of the new materials industry.
