The wrong laying method of the floor affects the life

Many homeowners don’t face major issues when choosing floor decoration, but problems often arise during daily use. Many people tend to blame these issues on the quality of the flooring itself. However, according to investigations by relevant authorities, more than 50% of the problems are actually caused by improper installation. This means that the way a floor is laid directly affects its durability and performance over time.

1. Uneven Subfloor: If the ground isn't properly leveled, it can cause some sections of the floor or underlayment to lift up, resulting in creaking sounds when walked on. A stable and flat subfloor is essential for long-term comfort and structural integrity.

2. Unseasoned Wooden Joists: The moisture content in un-dried wood joists can be as high as 25%, while properly treated wooden floors should have a moisture content around 12%. This significant difference can lead to rapid moisture absorption, causing the floor to warp, cup, or even crack. In many renovation projects, the floor is installed first, and other work like painting is done later. However, this delay—often lasting a month or more—can expose the floor to excessive humidity and chemicals without proper protection, increasing the risk of damage.

3. Incorrect Tightness During Installation: Wood expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity. Therefore, the installation should take into account the environmental conditions of the space. If the floor is too loose, it may shrink and create large gaps. On the other hand, if it's too tight, expansion can cause the boards to buckle or rise, leading to an uneven surface.

4. Improper Fastening Methods: Using wooden wedges and nails to secure the floor can result in weak holding power due to limited contact area. This can lead to loose joists and squeaky floors when walked on. It’s important to use appropriate fastening techniques that ensure stability and longevity.
