Shower installation method

When it comes to installing a shower, the height can vary depending on the type of shower you're using. For concealed showers, the center point between the wall and the floor should ideally be around 2.1 meters, while the distance from the shower control switch to the floor should be approximately 1.1 meters.

On the other hand, if you’re opting for a surface-mounted, adjustable shower arm (commonly referred to as a lifting rod shower), the general guideline is to measure from the showerhead itself, with a recommended distance of about 2 meters from the floor. However, these figures are just averages and may need adjustments based on the height of the user. Everyone’s comfort level differs, so it’s always wise to tailor the installation accordingly.

For wall-mounted shower controls, ensure that they are recessed into the wall with the hot and cold valves positioned on either side. Ideally, the center-to-center distance between the two valves should be around 150 cm. Make sure the valve box aligns flush with the surrounding tiles and that the internal plumbing runs perpendicular to the wall. Once installed, the shower controls should sit perfectly flush with the wall, and the front of the unit should form a 90-degree angle with the wall surface.

Another crucial aspect to consider is the water pressure regulation. Typically, a water pressure of around 1.5 kg per square centimeter is optimal for a shower. If the water pressure exceeds this range, the flow becomes excessively strong, which can lead to discomfort or even damage to the shower components over time. Conversely, insufficient water pressure will result in a weak stream, which defeats the purpose of having a functional shower system.

While setting up your shower, keep in mind that proper planning and attention to detail are essential. Whether it's adjusting the height for individual preferences, ensuring the controls are correctly aligned, or fine-tuning the water pressure, every step plays a role in creating an enjoyable and efficient bathing experience. And remember, even small details like the placement of the showerhead or the angle of the controls can make a big difference in how well your shower performs day-to-day.
