China overcomes the problem of applying brown coal in coal chemical industry

On June 24, the Shaanxi Yulin Western Coal Technology Research Center successfully produced high-concentration coal-water slurry using lignite from Hulunbeier City in Inner Mongolia. This achievement was made possible through the use of their self-developed low-rank coal fine dry powder technology, which enabled the production of a coal-water slurry with a coal concentration of 63.8% and a viscosity of 1200 cPa on an independently built industrial pilot line. This marks the world's first such production line, making it feasible to utilize lignite in the coal chemical industry. Lignite has long been a challenge in the coal chemical sector due to its low calorific value, high moisture content, and tendency to weather and spontaneously combust. The maximum concentration of coal-water slurry produced via traditional wet processes is typically no more than 48%. Countries around the world, including China, have attempted to improve this by upgrading lignite, but these methods often come with high costs and limited success. Since 1996, the Western Coal Technology Research Center has focused on the vast lignite reserves in Inner Mongolia, conducting extensive research on high-concentration coal-water slurry technology for low-rank coal. Their efforts have led to successful pilot tests across multiple regions in China, consistently achieving coal-water slurry concentrations above 60%, surpassing those made from clean coal. To overcome the challenges of lignite, the center employed physical and chemical methods to break water-containing functional groups within the coal, preventing water absorption and enabling the creation of high-concentration slurry. They also developed new pulping techniques and chemical additives, optimized particle size grading, and improved packing efficiency. This streamlined process allows for automated production at a cost of only 98 yuan per ton of pulp, with an effective gas yield reaching up to 73%. In comparison, Datang Hulunbeier Fertilizer Company currently uses a domestic lignite wet process to prepare coal-water slurry with a concentration of just 48%, leading to high synthetic ammonia consumption. If the concentration could be increased to 60%, coal usage, as well as oxygen and power consumption, would significantly decrease. To date, the Western Coal Technology Research Center has conducted lignite tests in 21 different producing areas and has established 10 industrialized pilot production lines, marking a major step forward in the efficient utilization of lignite resources.

Topmount Sink

The installation of the countertop basin is easy, as long as the hole is opened on the countertop. There are a variety of sink edge designs for over-counter basin sink styles to choose from. It is necessary to ensure that the connection gap between the sink and the countertop is uniform, and there is no water seepage.
