1. Begin by applying a primer to the wall or ceiling and ensure it is completely dry before starting. Once the paint of your choice is ready, start painting from the top and work your way down.

2. When painting walls or ceilings, apply the first coat as thinly as possible, regardless of whether you're using a stabilizer. For water-based paints, dilute with water, and for oil-based paints, use turpentine. This helps reduce surface absorption and improves the finish. If using a brush, make sure the paint is evenly distributed on the bristles to avoid streaks.

3. For the final coat, begin by painting small areas like the ceiling corners and wall edges with a 5cm-wide brush. Then, work along doors, windows, switches, and fireplaces in the same manner. Apply a thin layer around the baseboards as well.

4. In a 2 square meter area, paint from the ceiling down to the walls, filling in any gaps one at a time. While the previous section is still wet, start the next one, slightly overlapping to ensure a smooth transition. Try to complete an entire wall or ceiling in one go for a more professional look.

5. When using a brush, change the direction of your strokes within the same area to avoid visible brush marks and achieve a uniform color. Avoid overloading the brush with too much paint. If using a roller, employ a cross-rolling technique and avoid sudden movements to prevent splattering.

6. For woodwork, if needed, apply a primer according to the manufacturer's instructions and let it dry. When applying the top coat, follow the grain direction. Paint small sections of 30 cm² on paneling or 60 cm² on baseboards, then apply paint across the grain and finally back along the grain. If the wood grain runs vertically, just paint straight up and down.

7. When painting a wooden door, start with the hardware—such as the handle, knob, and keyhole—and work outward.

8. It's recommended to follow this order: 1. embossed frame, 2. parts, 3. straight sections, 4. panels, 5. boxes. This ensures even coverage and a neat finish.

9. When painting windows, cover the glass with masking tape, leaving a 3mm overlap between the glass and the window sill. Seal all gaps to prevent moisture from getting under the paint. Do not prime the window area—start painting from the window itself, then move to the perimeter and finally the frame. After the paint dries, remove the tape. If paint gets on the glass, gently scrape it off with a knife or razor.

10. Before painting the skirting board, lay down backing paper on the floor. If needed, place masking tape along the edges and start from the corner of the room. Try to complete each skirting board in one session. Remove the tape once the paint is dry. Before painting the heater, make sure the fan has cooled down completely.

11. Use colored paint for the first coat, as heat from the appliance may cause regular paint to fade. Also, avoid painting near the valve. It's a good habit to clean your brush immediately after painting. Water-based paints can be cleaned with mild soap, while oil-based paints require turpentine. After cleaning, wipe the brush with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
