SMEs should turn to civilian security market

In the past three decades, China's security industry has evolved into a stage of comprehensive growth. With the rapid development of the Internet of Things and the expansion of the market, security companies have continuously restructured themselves in a fiercely competitive environment. Large enterprises leverage their inherent advantages to dominate major market shares, while small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) carve out their own paths through effective operations and niche strategies. Recently, the editor of China Security Network had an exclusive interview with Mr. Wang Yingtao, Chairman of China Keshi An Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Zhongshi Shi An"). During the conversation, he shared his journey in the security industry. His team, composed of 80-year-old members, embodies a relentless spirit that has endured since the 1980s. As a second-generation entrepreneur who ventured southward, Wang Yingtao experienced struggles, failures, and rebirths. After countless challenges, he now leads a company with over 500 employees, maintaining a calm and steady demeanor. His genuine smile and approachable nature make him easy to connect with. From its inception, Zhongshi Shi An focused on the international security market, gaining recognition abroad. However, as the global security landscape evolved, the company shifted its attention back to the domestic market, preparing to enter the civilian security sector. In this dynamic market, how does a company like Zhongshi Shi An adapt, highlight its strengths, and achieve sustainable growth? Zhongshi Shi An is a manufacturer specializing in R&D, production, and sales of security products such as DVRs, NVRs, and IP cameras. Its products have been exported to more than 20 countries and regions, with offices established in the U.S. and Russia. The company has also participated in numerous international security exhibitions in the U.S., Russia, Brazil, and other nations. What does the term “great age” mean? According to Wang Yingtao, the “big” in this era refers to the expansion of the security market beyond traditional sectors. Today, security is no longer limited to industrial or institutional use—it’s increasingly becoming part of everyday life. He points out that growing public awareness of safety, especially after high-profile incidents involving children, has led to a shift in people’s perspectives. As a result, security solutions are now being adopted in homes, schools, parks, and public transport—creating a network of invisible eyes that protect individuals. Wang Yingtao believes that this “big age” isn’t unique to China. It’s reflected globally, with countries like the U.S., India, and Brazil requiring surveillance systems in public spaces. This trend shows that the era of comprehensive security is here, deeply integrated into daily life. Looking back, Zhongshi Shi An initially focused on the domestic market but was forced to expand internationally due to a crisis. Early on, the company developed partnerships, but these eventually dissolved, leading to a major challenge. Faced with this setback, Wang Yingtao restructured the company, redirected its focus toward foreign markets, and gradually built up its business. Over time, the company grew to its current size and strength. Now, as the domestic civilian market heats up, Zhongshi Shi An is planning to enter this space. While competition is fierce, with large companies dominating through financial and technological power, SMEs often struggle to keep up. Despite this, Wang Yingtao remains confident in the company’s ability to succeed in the civilian market. This confidence stems from strong technical support and a dedicated team that has been with the company from the start. In conclusion, market competition should not be seen as a reason to retreat, but as a driving force for growth. Under Wang Yingtao’s leadership, Zhongshi Shi An is well-positioned to continue expanding and thriving in the evolving security landscape.

300mm Diameter Dome Lens

Our Dome Lens is an optical window composed of two parallel curved surfaces. Dome lenses are commonly used in meteorology applications, pyranometers, defence applications and often used in high pressure viewports in underwater cameras and submersibles. For this reason our dome offer both high transmission as well as durability. Other application for our dome include visible-range domes for pyranometers and infrared-range domes for pyrgeometers, and as high pressure viewports in underwater cameras and submersibles.

BK7 or K9L domes are used primarily in meteorology applications. BK7 offers excellent transmission from 300nm up to 2µm. BK7 is a relatively hard material, with excellent chemical durability.
UV fused silica domes ( JGS1 ): For applications operating in the deeper UV range, we offers a range of UV fused silica domes. Fused silica domes are commonly used in underwater applications at extremely high pressures.
Sapphire domes: For infrared applications we can provide sapphire domes. Sapphire is an extremely hard material with transmission of over 80% in the 2-5µm wavelength range. As with fused silica, sapphire is able to withstand extreme pressures, making it the perfect material for underwater camera and missile fairing applications.
